Vizquel confirmed the signing on his Twitter account and it's being reported that the contract is for one year.

The 44-year-old appeared in a career-low 58 games last season with the White Sox and batted .251 with eight RBI and 18 runs scored.

The three-time All Star has played for Seattle, Cleveland, San Francisco, Texas and the Chicago White Sox since breaking into the league with the Mariners in 1989.

Over that time, he has appeared in 2,908 games and is a career .272 hitter with 80 home runs and 944 RBI.

He is an 11-time Gold Glove winner and has set several records at shortstop, including most games played at the position and most double plays turned at the position.
